背景

Mother Science的存在是为了利用自然的潜力和科学的力量,提供最先进的护肤解决方案。Malassezin是一种存在于皮肤上的天然分子,这种神奇的分子是进入护肤品市场的一种真正新颖的成分。Malassezin的抗氧化性能比维生素C强十倍,临床证明可以减少黑斑,提亮和光滑皮肤,减少细纹和皱纹的出现。madethought创造了一种语言和视觉表达,就像突破英雄成分本身一样创新和鼓舞人心。

THE CONTEXT



Mother Science exists to harness the potential of nature and power of science to deliver state-of-the-art skincare solutions. Born from the discovery of Malassezin—a naturally-occurring molecule found on the skin—this magic molecule is a truly novel ingredient entering the skincare market. 

With antioxidant properties that are ten times more powerful than Vitamin C, Malassezin is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of dark spots, brighten and smooth skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Our challenge was to create a verbal and visual expression as innovative and inspiring as the breakthrough hero ingredient itself.

THE CREATION



We worked with beauty veteran and CEO Jessica Goldin alongside co-founders Mike Einziger, founding guitarist of the rock band Incubus, and renowned violinist Ann Marie Simpson-Einziger, drawing inspiration for the brand from the captivating team of scientists, creators, dreamers and innovators brought together. 

We were able to identify a unique creative opportunity and brand world for Mother Science, rooted in the exploration of the intersection of science and nature—and reflective of the dual quality of biotechnology. We also helped the team to identify key values and messaging before building out the more tangible aspects of the brand world.

THE DETAILS



The form and materiality of the packaging is inspired by metallic scientific equipment, creating objects of the future by reflecting the natural world around them.

Beyond the packaging we interpret biotech in new ways. ‘Small but mighty innovations’ allowed us to play with scale, highlighting the power of these unseen molecules in unusual and artful ways.

The duality of science and nature informed our materials palette, introducing a chrome coating into organic and natural environments. 
This contrasts with our honest portraits and skin textures.

Molecular structures and scientific symbols influenced our brand marks and 3D molecular worlds. The precise focus on details and the singular use of material were the decisive factors that produced the impression 
of “engineered luxury”.
