2023年12月6日，以“应对变局 理性发展 服务建设 行稳致远”为主题的第八届中国国际砂石骨料大会在上海盛大开幕。这是我国砂石行业近三年首个国际性会议，也是全球砂石行业又一个千人大会。
大会期间，中国砂石协会融媒体中心专访了新西兰砂石协会政策顾问Jeremy Harding先生。Jeremy Harding先生从对本次大会的认识、砂石行业的国际合作以及砂石骨料行业未来的发展趋势分享了观点。
CAA: What is your opinion about the 2023 CAA Shanghai conference? Do you have some new understanding of Chinese aggregates industry and do you have some new gains after participating the conference?
中国砂石协会：您好，请问您对此次大会有什么看法和建议，通过此次大会是否对中国砂石行业有了新的认识？
Jeremy Harding: The conference was excellent. It was well organised, covered a wide range of topics, and had some enjoyable entertainment. Listening to the presentations and talking to the delegates and sponsors, I was able to gain a good understanding of both the global and Chinese industry and to make lots of international connections. The hospitality of the CAA is really good and it has been a very successful conference and I am pleasure to be able to attend.
杰里米·哈丁：这次会议非常棒。会议组织得很好，涵盖了广泛的主题，并有一些令人愉快轻松的活动。聆听演讲并与代表和赞助商交谈，我能够很好地了解全球和中国的砂石行业，并建立了很多国际联系。这是一次非常成功的会议，感谢中国砂石协会的热情好客，我很高兴能够参加本次会议。
CAA:At the conference, CAA president Hu delivered a keynote speech on the current international and Chinese domestic economic situation and the sustainable development of the aggregates industry. What is your opinion of his presentation?
中国砂石协会：在本次大会中，胡会长做了《当前国际国内经济形势和砂石工业的可持续发展》的报告，您对此报告内容有什么看法？
Jeremy Harding: Mr Hu has an extensive knowledge of the aggregate industry and his presentation was full of facts on the global and Chinese economic situation which is of interest to me. The thing in his presentation, I was particularly interested in the macro trends, economy trends, industry trends, and the presentation is very insightful about what is happening in China and in the world and in terms of the challenges we face. I was impressed he was able to speak for a significant length of time without hesitating and while keeping the content full of interesting insights.
杰里米·哈丁：胡会长对砂石骨料行业有着广泛专业的了解，他的演讲充满了有关全球和中国经济形势的数据事实，这引起了我的兴趣。我对他的演讲内容里的宏观趋势、经济趋势、行业趋势特别感兴趣，他的演讲让我对中国和世界正在发生的事情以及我们面临的挑战有了更好的了解，他的报告非常有洞察力。让我印象深刻的是，他能够不间断地讲如此长的时间，同时能够保持内容充满趣味性和深刻的见解。
CAA: What is your opinion and suggestions on the international cooperation in the aggregates industry?
中国砂石协会：对于砂石行业的国际合作，您有什么看法？
Jeremy Harding: It is always valuable making international connections and the conference and subsequent engagement with the sponsors enabled this. The presentations also showed how internationally connected the aggregates industry is which is very positive. We are very grateful for able to attend the event provided by CAA and I am grateful for the hospitality shown by the CAA and sponsors. I wish we could have more fruitful cooperation in the future.
杰里米•哈丁：建立国际联系总是很有价值的，本次会议以及后续与赞助商和相关代表的交流，包括会议的演讲让我们看到这个行业的国际合作交流是多么密切。我们非常感谢中国砂石协会以及承办单位的热情接待。感谢砂石协会提供了这样一个国际交流的平台。我期待我们的行业未来有更多富有成效的合作交流。
CAA: How do you view the future trend of the global aggregates industry as the world economy is facing downward pressure?
中国砂石协会：您如何看待未来砂石骨料行业的发展趋势？
Jeremy Harding: Notwithstanding the cyclical downturn some countries are experiencing, the overall trend for the global aggregates industry is positive. Aggregates are an essential input in the construction industry and are the most consumed product in the world after water. This is likely to continue for some time.
杰里米·哈丁：尽管一些国家正在经历周期性衰退，但全球砂石骨料行业的总体趋势是积极的。骨料是建筑行业的重要材料，也是世界上仅次于水的消耗最多的产品。这种情况可能会持续很长一段时间。
