Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China over 70 years ago, China has always put its people at the center and regards the rights to subsistence and development as the primary and fundamental human rights. China has established and improved human rights protection systems suited to its national conditions and blazed a path of human rights development with Chinese characteristics. The fight against poverty secured a complete victory, lifting nearly 100 million rural poor people out of poverty, thus historically eradicating absolute poverty. China actively participates in global human rights governance, having ratified or acceded to 26 international human rights instruments, and promotes the just and reasonable development of the international human rights cause. There is no one-size-fits-all model for human rights development; countries should respect each other’s national conditions and conduct equal exchanges and mutual learning.
