China reports 5% GDP growth in 2025

China's gross domestic product expanded by 5 percent to reach 140.19 trillion yuan ($20.13 trillion) in 2025, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Monday.

国家统计局周一表示，2025年中国国内生产总值增长5%，达到140.19万亿元人民币（合20.13万亿美元）。

In the fourth quarter, the economy expanded 4.5 percent from a year earlier and grew 1.2 percent from the previous quarter, the NBS said.

国家统计局表示，第四季度经济同比增长4.5%，环比增长1.2%。

Despite a complex domestic and external environment, the economy advanced under pressure, achieving fresh progress in high-quality development, the NBS noted.

国家统计局指出，尽管国内外环境复杂，经济仍顶住压力取得发展，在高质量发展方面取得新进展。

It added that the main goals and tasks for economic and social development were fully achieved in 2025, bringing the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) to a successful conclusion.

它补充说，2025年全面实现了经济和社会发展的主要目标和任务，使“十四五”规划（2021-2025年）圆满收官。

China's value-added industrial output, an important economic indicator, expanded 5.9 percent year-on-year in 2025. In December alone, China's industrial output increased by 5.2 percent year-on-year, the NBS said.

中国国家统计局表示，2025年，中国工业增加值这一重要经济指标同比增长5.9%。仅12月份，中国工业产出同比增长5.2%。

China's retail sales of consumer goods, a major indicator of the country's consumption strength, climbed 3.7 percent year-on-year in 2025. In December alone, the retail sales of consumer goods rose 0.9 percent year-on-year.

作为衡量中国消费实力的重要指标，2025年中国社会消费品零售总额同比增长3.7%。仅12月份，社会消费品零售总额就同比增长0.9%。

China's per capita disposable income went up 5 percent year-on-year in nominal terms in 2025, data from the NBS showed. The country's per capita disposable income stood at 43,377 yuan last year, the NBS said.

国家统计局数据显示，2025年中国人均可支配收入按名义价值计算同比增长5%。国家统计局表示，去年中国人均可支配收入为43377元。
